About
Due to the unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, many NYC residents are unable to step outside to retrieve food. For some, it is due to a lack of funds with the loss of employment. For others, it is because they (or the family members they live with) suffer from underlying conditions, such as asthma or diabetes, and going outside is dangerous for their health. Lack of real access to nutritious food will lead to more illness and a great risk of mass starvation.
Given the impact of COVID-19 on our working class, people of color, and immigrant communities, we launched our COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund in April to help alleviate the emergency food and care needs of our neighbors in Washington Heights/Inwood, Harlem, and the Bronx.
To date, we have delivered door to door over 2,170 care packages with food and supplies. As a result, supporting the sustenance of over 10,000 + of our neighbors
